Ask anyone who knows us, and they will tell you all 3 of Team Yes We Khan are a bit geeky in the sense that we all enjoy a fun fact. With that in mind we were all eager to find out some fun (and often bizarre) facts about the places we intend to travel though. Google obliged and we were not disappointed.

UK – There is a law still in place from the 1800’s which states “It is Illegal to be drunk in the pub”.
France – In France, it is against the law to call your pig Napoleon.
Belgium – Belgium is the world’s leading exporter of billiard balls – nearly 80 percent of the world’s billiard balls are made in Belgium.
Luxembourg – Luxembourg has won the Eurovision Song Contest five times (in 1961, 1965, 1972, 1973 and 1983), a feat only surpassed by Ireland.
Germany – For the company’s 50th birthday, the company who makes Barbie designed a barbie doll based on Angela Merkel.
Austria – In 1788 the Austrian army accidentally attacked itself, and lost 10,000 men.
Hungary – The musical condom, which plays a tune while being unrolled, was invented by Ferenc Kovacs and launched in Hungary in June 1996.
Serbia – The most expensive cheese in the world, Pule, is made in Serbia from donkeys milk.
Bulgaria – Bulgarians shake their heads to mean yes, and nod for no.
Georgia – The Georgian word Shemomedjamo means “to eat past the point of fullness because the food tastes so good“. It roughly translates to “I accidentally ate the whole thing“.
Azerbaijan – The town of Naftalan is famous for its crude oil baths, which were popular during the Soviet era for their alleged health benefits, and have been seeing a resurgence of popularity as of late.
Iran – Mullets are banned in Iran.
Turkmenistan – There are 26 public airports in Turkmenistan, good enough for country with only 5 million residents!
Uzbekistan – Uzbekistan is a double landlocked country. A double-landlocked country is a landlocked country that is itself surrounded by landlocked countries. Uzbekistan is in Central Asia and is surrounded by Afghanistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Turkmenistan.
Kazakhstan – Kazakhs believe that whistling a song inside a building will make you poor for the rest of your life.
Russia – There are approximately 10 million more women in Russia than there are men.
Mongolia – The Mongolian Navy consists of a single tugboat manned by seven men, only one of whom knows how to swim.
